Under the proposed theme, Hydrogen substituted graphdiyne (HsGDY) is synthesized by a novel thermal coupling technique through the chemical vapour deposition (CVD) method. The HsGDY has similar functional properties of graphdiyne and its structural, functional properties have not been explored yet. Hence, the nanoscale characterization of the newly developed HsGDY is essential to identifying the π-conjugated butadiyne and aromatic hydrogen (Ar-H) in the 2D network. The high-resolution scanning probe microscopy (SPM) characterization and grazing incidence wide-angle X-ray scattering analysis will disclose the atomic arrangements and stacking behaviour of HsGDY. Specifically, the carbon diyne functional groups are identified with Raman spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy and FTIR. As an output of this research, the developed material is applied to capacitive energy storage or sensing devices.
